Education Movement Initiatives in the Zone
Internal & Abroad Scholarships
- 30 male and female students were selected for the second batch of China scholarships.
- Within SEZAD efforts to follow up & meet the needs of the students in China, SEZAD is preparing to provide the students with medical insurance in cooperation with Wan Fang Company. The company is covering students medical treatment costs currently until completing the procedures of Medical insurance.
- SEZAD awarded applicants seven internal scholarships.
- Within the framework of CSR initiatives to support educational movement in the Zone, and in cooperation with Wan Fang company, 38 Omani students joined Ningxia Polytechnic College at the city of Yinchuan, as part of the 1000 scholarships initiative of Wang fang company for the graduates to be qualified to work in the projects planned by Wan Fang in SEZAD. The students of the first batch have completed their scholarship in June 2018.
SEZAD awarded 11 internal scholarships for higher education.
SEZAD funded a number of internal scholarships from 2014 to 2017. It awarded 10 scholarships in 2015 for applicants to join different universities and colleges in the Sultanate.

Schools
SEZAD funded Teachers' Day celebration and honoring ceremony of students of Baher Al Arab School, Duqm School for girls and Dhaher School.
As SEZAD believes in the important role that teachers are playing in the community, SEZAD have funded the celebration of teacher’s day at Duqm.
Funded by Duqm Refinery, "challenge program" was organized for the students of Wusta region to motivate students improve their academic achievements.

Voluntary initiatives of public facilities in the Zone
Public parking
SEZAD in cooperation with Premiere International Company and as part of the company’s role in social responsibility projects, constructed parking for Duqm hospital.
SEZAD in cooperation with CGC installed a fence for al Zawawi mosque at Duqm as part of the company CSR program.

Environmental initiatives
Beaches Cleaning Campaigns
In cooperation with Duqm Refinery, environment department, SEZAD organized” My environment” a campaign for cleaning the beaches of Duqm. During the 2 days campaign, 300 volunteer participated from the companies operating in the Zone and 50 female and male students joined the campaign in the second day.
SEZAD organized beaches cleaning campaign at Duqm in coordination with government entities and the companies operating in the zone. The event comes in line with the celebrations of Oman Environmental day, which was organized on December 13, 2016.
Beaches cleaning event was organized at Duqm in the event of Oman environmental day jointly carried out with the Ministry of education, Ministry of Manpower, the Ministry of regional municipalities and the companies operating in the zone.

Earth hour
SEZAD participated in the biggest global event to combat climate change; the event took place on March 24 to turn off electricity on 1 hour from 8: 30 to 9: 30 PM. CSR urged SEZAD staff & their families to participate in earth hour to join the efforts of protecting the planet.

Training and employment
Training
SEZAD in cooperation with MOMP and the National Training Fund have organized Duqm 2018 interviews for training and employment opportunities, “Your future with us”. Around 283 job opportunities were offered on the exhibition including 130 training opportunity with employment. 500 male and female job seekers attended the exhibition.
44 male and female students have graduated from the 6 months Duqm training program,. After the graduation, CSR arranged interviews for all graduate of the training program to be able to find the suitable Job as soon as possible. Three of them were hired after the interviews in the Unified Group for Contracting. Besides, SEZAD agreed with Bank Muscat to provide 2 jobs in Duqm branch for the graduates of the training program. We negotiated with the Port of Duqm to provide 10 graduates training for 3 months.
Within Duqm training initiative, SEZAD established Duqm Training Center to train 50 youth participants from the local people of Duqm. The program is designed to qualify Omani youth to work in different companies of the zone. It includes training on English language, computer skills, work ethics and safety and security. The initiative was carried out jointly in cooperation with Duqm Refinery and Duqm for Petroleum Terminal with the supervision of Takatuf and SEZAD and was implemented by Gutech.

Employment
SEZAD organized interviews for 400 candidate who applied for the job opportunities offered by 6 companies in the exhibition and 120 applicant were hired through these interviews.
SEZAD organized Training and Employment Exhibition at Duqm to provide job and training opportunities for the local people.
SEZAD established a database for job seekers and vacant jobs in the companies operating in the zone.

Ramadhan Events
Ramadan supplies
As part of Partnership and Development department annual Ramadan charity program, SEZAD offered the families this year a letter with 24 OMR to buy their own needs for the holy month, from three selected main shopping centres . The targeted category is the families under social insurance which are 265 as per the list of the ministry of social development .The department delivered the letters to the office of the Wali of Duqm & Duqm charity team distributed them to the families.
Serika Taahhut Construction Company purchased 500 boxes of supplies to support needy families in Ramadan.
Initiated by Serika Taahhut Company, SEZAD & Serika Taahhout visited 500 families and supported them with Ramadan supplies.

Cultural and entertainment events
CSR section of SEZAD in cooperation with Tatweer organized Ramadan cultural and entrainment events for the first time, in order to build a relationship between the local of people of the Duqm and the companies operating in the Zone. These efforts have come together to achieve the aspired goals .The audience welcomed the events which strengthen the connection & cooperation spirit between the different categories of the community in the holy month of Ramadhan. The nights were held in Crown Plaza Hotel and Ramadan football tournament was organized in Park inn Hotel playground from 12 June to 22 June 2016.

Blood donation campaigns
Organized 2018 annual blood donation campaign named “my blood a gift to my land”. The total number of donators is 58 donors.
Entitled “You don’t have to be a Doctor to Save a Life”, blood donation campaign was organized for Thalassemia children. More than 50 donors participated in the campaign.
As annual initiative of SEZAD, blood donation campaign was organized and the total number of donors was 80 person.

Financial Contributions
- SEZAD supported Duqm group wedding of the local people of Duqm.
- In cooperation with the public Authority for electricity and water, SEZAD contributed in providing water supply for 32 low-income family in Ras Madraka.
- SEZAD supported the event organized for connecting higher educational institutions in the Sultanate with the public and private sector, which was held in Oman International Exhibition canter.
With the contribution of Duqm Refinery, Duqm Port and SEZAD managed to buy the necessary devices and supplies for the needy families as per the list provided by the Ministry of Social development.
Financial support was provided from SEZAD to Omani Women Association at Duqm.

Awareness Forums and Campaigns
- SEZAD participated in the celebration of International Volunteers Day, under the patronage of D. Salim bin Suleiman AL Junaibi, chairman of Wusta (CCI). SEZAD gave a presentation on SEZAD achievements in social investment and social responsibility.
- SEZAD organized a lecture on “Family Cohesion” in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development in SEZAD at Duqm.
- SEZAD won the gold medal on corporate Social responsibility field from the regional conference for CSR, in a ceremony held in Egypt, Sharm AL sheikh, to honor those adopting and promoting CSR in the Arabs states.
- The Second Omani youth forum was organized in Ras Madraka School from 7-8 December 2017, under the patronage of Sheikh Isehaq bin Salim AL Rawahi, Deputy Wail of Duqm, and saw different entertainment and cultural events.
- SEZAD Organized lecture on “Child Rights” in cooperation with the competent in the Ministry of Social Development at Crown Plaza Duqm hotel. The lecture discussed many relevant topics, including: child law, international agreements of children rights and children protection mechanisms.
- The First Omani youth forum was organized In the Wilayat of Duqm from 19 to 23 January 2016, with 150 young male and female participants from the different Wilayats of the Sultanate between the age of 18 & 26 years. The forum achieved the objectives aspired to engage young people in the economic planning and development of the Sultanate and raise awareness about the fundamentals of the national economy and their importance.
CSR forum was organized in partnership with Oman Chambers of Commerce and Industry, AL Wusta branch.
