The Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm (SEZAD) announced that the registration of the companies with the Authority will be completed with no more than 48 hours from the time of submitting the applications. Ismail bin Ahmed al Balushi, Deputy CEO of SEZAD, said that this procedure will come into force from today and that the Authority has taken necessary measures to facilitate procedures for the companies operating in the Sultanate. In a statement to ONA, he added that there are a number of available investment opportunities for the companies operating in industrial, commercial and tourism sectors, as well as those operating in services, construction and other sectors.
Al Balushi pointed out that companies cannot start doing business in SEZAD unless they are registered with the Authority. The registration may be made through the Authority\\'s HQs in the Wilayat of Duqm or its offices in Al Athaiba in Muscat Governorate. Companies may get the registration card and know the terms and documents through the Authority\\'s website. SEZAD Deputy CEO also pointed out that this procedure comes as part of the efforts made by the Authority to encourage local and foreign companies to invest in the zone, thus contributing to diversifying sources of the national economy, increasing non-oil revenues and generating job opportunities for the Omani youth, as well as ensuring the development of Al Wusta Governorate.
He affirmed that the Authority is very keen on facilitating procedures for all investors in SEZAD by making such procedures simple and can be quickly processed. \\'SEZAD\\'s website includes many information that help investors in taking their decisions and save time and effort,\\' he said.
