Duqm hosts Nufoon Sculpture Forum

Activities of the Sculptors Forum, which is held at the village of Nufoon in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, kicked off recently, with the participation of a group of international sculptors from Spain, Germany, Bulgaria, Romania and Tunisia, and two of the most prominent Omani sculptors the participating sculptors will produce artistic statues of different sizes ranging from 2 – 3 metres, which in turn reflect the unique natural, geological and touristic features and landmarks in Duqm.
The Forum, which will last until December 3rd, includes organising various workshops by the participating sculptors to familiarise the visitors from the community, employees of companies operating in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, and school students to the art of sculpture and the different artworks that produced by the sculptors.
It is worth noting that the Sculptors' Forum in the village of Nufoon comes as part of the activities presented in "Amad Duqm 22" event, which will be held from November 25 to December 3. This 9-day event is organised by the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in the Zone, and includes a number of recreational, cultural and sports events and activities.
