Land Usufruct Pacts Signed

Yahya bin Said al Jabri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm (SEZAD) signed yesterday two land usufruct agreements with local investors at SEZAD with a view to further support and facilitate various local investments in the zone. The major agreements is with Delta Company with a capital estimated by RO 3.7 million for cement product industries, in addition to a metal workshop, a storage area and manpower accommodation on a land plot of 33,965 square metres, which will avail about 100 jobs for Omanis. The second agreement granted a second land plot of 33,926 square metres to set up a central store, manufacturing plant and a block factory for the company. In a statement, Delta said that the company is seeking to expand its presence in SEZAD and benefit as a company that provides business to major enterprises and provides construction materials while providing supportive services in the catering sector and logistics support, expressing the hope that the agreement would be a real start at Duqm.
